Ticket decision guide

Booking Egypt Attraction Tickets

Ticket facts are volatile. Use official routes first, keep receipts, and separate official ticketing from resellers or tour inclusions.

Last checked: 2026-08-13. This guide is decision support, not a provider directory, ranking, financial product recommendation, ticket marketplace, live price, or booking guarantee.

Official route

Start with the official owner

  • For Ministry-managed monuments and museums, start from egymonuments.gov.eg or the official page linked from the relevant Mersavia attraction dossier.
  • For GEM, use the official GEM web presence linked from the GEM visit guide; recheck whether the current ticket path, timed entry, and last ticket time have changed.
  • Do not assume a search ad, social post, marketplace, or tour page is official because it uses attraction photos or the attraction name.

Categories

Check ticket categories and eligibility

  • Student, resident, Egyptian/Arab, foreigner, child, special-ticket, camera, tomb, panorama, or event-day categories can differ by site.
  • Eligibility may require documents and can change; do not promise a discount or ticket type unless the official source says it for the travel date.
  • Timed entry and last-ticket windows matter for realistic itineraries.

Resellers

Treat resellers as separate offers

  • A reseller or tour inclusion may add convenience, guide service, transfer, or bundled access, but it is not the same as official attraction ticketing.
  • Confirm what happens if the attraction closes, the timed slot is missed, a special tomb is unavailable, or the official route is temporarily unavailable.
  • Keep screenshots, receipt, QR code, order number, official URL, and the name shown on the ticket where applicable.

Unavailable route

When the official path is unavailable

  • Do not invent ticket availability. Recheck later, contact the official attraction/museum route, ask a licensed operator what they can verify in writing, or plan a substitute.
  • If a site has an official counter or machines, confirm payment method and last-sale time close to travel.
  • Avoid building a fixed itinerary around an unconfirmed ticket or special access item.
